Pit Crew
The Marching Band pit crew are the parents responsible for getting the "marching band pit" on and off the field. The pit are the instruments that are too big to move around the field. These instruments are Tympanis, Xylophones, chimes, and various other instruments. These marching band members and students are stationary during the performance.
They are also responsible for loading the truck at the school and getting the truck to the performance field. Unloading the truck at the field, reloading the truck after the performance and finally unloading the truck at the end of the evening.

The "Pit Crew Song" Chorus is :
Toil all day and get no Pay
Toil all day and get no Pay

Workin' in the Pitcrew.
The verses are all similar and starts like this:
At Competitioin number 1
The prop construction had just begun
The prop construction had just begun
Workin' in the Pitcrew.
Then:
#2 - The prop team didn't know what to do.
#3 - We found out Penske trucks aren't free
#4 - We couldn't open the band room door.
#5 - The tractor drivers do take no jive.
#6 - We found no shortage of something to fix.
#7 - The tail gate party was simply heaven.
#8 - The pit crew team is never late. |
