President’s Letter May 2009
First I want to wish all of the mothers the warmest and kindest Mother’s Day. I hope you were all treated as Queens befitting the gratitude you are owed by so many!
The Board of Directors met and has determined the band fee for 2009/10 will be $650 for the first child and $550 for siblings. There was much debate and hand ringing on this subject however cuts were made in the budget and the numbers are down for next year’s marching band.
This week’s booster meeting will elect the new officers for 2009/10. The ballot is well represented with talent and passion for the music program. I encourage everyone to come to the meeting and vote. The slate of candidates is listed on the band web site. Many thanks to Mike Hillman and Tom Kurdt for organizing the candidate search.
The school year is wrapping up. The concerts are or have been performed. The Band Banquet is this Friday the 15th at the Dutch’s Daughter. I hope to see you there! Saturday the 16th we have the Jazz and Spaghetti Dinner night. This is a super event. Good Food, Great Music, and Good Company.
The Booster Board wants to thank everyone that has helped prepare, present, or coordinate an event or committee this year. We certainly appreciate your efforts and the tireless service you’ve shown for the students of the program. Your hard work this year helped get us closer to the amount needed for new uniforms.
I will keep this letter brief this time. I will have remarks and personal notes during the banquet.
Thank you again for all you’re support and assistance this year. Enjoy the remainder of the year. If you are a senior or the parent of a senior enjoy these moments as I am.
