No treasurer’s report tonight other than, we have money…..
Student account person not here tonight. We have made a lot of phone calls to negative accounts and that seems to be making a difference. Carrie Kurdt has student account sheets tonight. Parents of students with positive band accounts may request that account funds be used for parents attending the Disney trip. An e-mail should be sent to Mike and Terri each month requesting that.
Fundraiser report: Block sales are on-going and wreath and poinsettia sales are over. We made around $1400. The cell tower money will be here in Jan/Feb. We met with PTA and Sports Boosters; the band will get $5800 of the first payment to be used towards the band uniforms. We are also working with the Sports Boosters to use some of the funds to improve the practice field. We will be making the first payment on the uniforms in January. We’ll be making a big push after that to raise money for the final payments.
Kiersten Gasemy is out of the hospital and off dialysis. She’s doing a lot better and Maggi and Amir send appreciation for all of our thoughts and prayers for them.
We’re in a hold mode on Ovations because Ovations is actually running behind. Vicki Smith is going to handle scheduling and Tom Kurdt will take care of the payroll function. We’ve had people step up to be the stand/cash managers already.
Disney trip update: Hotel contract and airline contract completed and down payments have been made. During the holidays, Mike will be putting together the forms that need to be signed and returned. They will need to be turned back in as soon as possible.
Tom has enough people to help with the recruitment concert on the 23 rd. We will also need a couple of chaperones for that…….
Tomorrow night is the percussion concert. Breakfast with Santa is this Saturday. Everything looks like it is pretty well covered. We’ve sent out over 500 post cards to elementary and pre-schools advertising the event. We’ll start set-up around 6:00 am. Food prep will start at 7:00. The 17 th and 21 st are full band rehearsals. The 22 nd is the Winter Concert. The band will be performing 2 mini-concerts for the student body on the 22 nd.
The feeder pattern concert is the 8 th of January. Chris Voell is heading it but is out of town today. It’s all of the bands and choirs in our feeder pattern will be performing in this concert. There will be individually and combined; 200 kids on instruments and 350 kids singing. It will be packed and we’ll need a lot of people on deck to help direct and move people through the school. We’ll have some fundraising opportunities there.
Thank you to Tom, Terri and Dennis for pitching in with the Disney Trip. Jen Baker for serving as treasurer, Laura and Andy for tracking the student money, and Doug and Andy for helping at the meetings will the cell tower monies. Thank you to Trish Colwell for the help with the wreaths and poinsettias and to Jessica and Kari – and all the students who helped distribute.
Mr. Kibler wished everyone a safe and happy holiday season. Mrs. Caulfield commented on how blessed she feels by having the booster organization that she has. She said we are a top-notch booster club.
Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm
