Treasurer’s report: Student Account Balance, $6,720.12; General Account Balance, $6,210.34; and Capital Account Balance, $6,037.32. We also have $15,000 from the capital account in an interest bearing CD.
Fundraising Committee: Indoor guard show is this weekend; we are still in need of a few volunteers. We definitely need a couple more people in parking/pit crew. Battle of the Bands is happening on the 19 th. We are in need of a few parents to be present and in the stands to keep an eye on things. No tickets can be purchased at the door. There will be a small concession stand open. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is March 28 th. It will be run just like Breakfast with Santa. We need kids to run the craft stations. We won’t have guard or percussion kids available so we may need some parents to step in. Claire’s Gourmet fundraiser is coming out soon, some time in April but before Mother’s Day. Gas card raffles are starting and will run through Jazz Night and Spaghetti Dinner on May 16 th. Keys Games will be ramping up, beginning the second week of April. There is a meeting on the 18 th for the people running the booth, managers, money managers, and then on the 25 th there is a bigger training for anyone who is going to be working in the stand. They will teach us about uniforms, arrival times and policies. We have a new stand, it’s a much smaller booth that will be easier to handle. Carrie announced Dream Dinners Fundraiser. See her for details.
Nominating Committee: Mike handed out nomination forms. These are just for suggesting a person that you think would make a good board member. They will be collected through the remainder of the month. In April the candidates will get a chance to speak and in May, we will vote. The positions that are up for nominations are: President, 1 st Vice President, 2 nd Vice President (this person also does the student accounts), Treasurer, and Secretary. The boosters and a part of the entire music program. The board helps keep the “business” running. There are other non-board positions, notably fundraising chair. This is a vitally important role. The special events committee will also need some people to help run the events.
Mr. Kibler asked to have a copy of the CD Jean has for fundraising.
Uniform Committee: They had to order 3 new gowns they should be here soon. Several had to be altered to fit properly. Marching uniforms are at the cleaners. They should be coming back soon as well. We have raised $20,000 in the capital account towards ordering the new uniforms. We will order this year and will take delivery for fall of 2010.
The board met this past week and reviewed all the budgets and year end tallies. We are formulating the budget for 2009/2010. The band has lost 10 members from last year. We have made some hard decisions to reduce some budget line items. There was discussion regarding the Spring Ridge split and how many students we may lose to Oakdale.
Meeting adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
Respectfully submitted, Carrie Kurdt Secretary
