General Volunteer Guidelines
Thomas Johnson High School Frederick Keys Stand


PARKING AND ENTRANCE

Park in the lower parking lot or along Stadium Dr. in the NW Parking lot, on the cemetery side. Please do not park closer than the picnic tables. Please enter through the kitchen doors to the left of the main stadium entrance.

ARRIVAL TIME

Arrive at scheduled time. All volunteers are to be in their assigned stands 1 hour before gates open.
7 p.m. game: 5 p.m. arrival
6 p.m. game: 4 p.m. arrival
2 p.m. game: 12 p.m. arrival

DRESS CODE

  • No opened toed shoes or sandals
  • Khaki or Black pants, shorts (no short shorts—or shirts – NO JEANS (everyone must wear the same color Khaki or Black)
  • TJ White T-Shirts must be worn
  • No excessive jewelry; small (not dangly) earrings/rings allowed. Long hair should be tied back.
  • Food handlers must wear gloves. Register attendants must not touch food.

ANYONE NOT IN PROPER UNIFORM WILL BE REQUESTED TO HAVE THE PROPER ATTIRE BROUGHT/RETURN HOME TO CHANGE

COMP MEALS

Complimentary pre-game meals are at break time, which can range throughout the game. These meals will be at 1st and 3rd base stands. There will be an employee meal ticket giving a choice of free items or 50% off handed out as to what you can eat. Meals must be eaten outside or in back of the stand so the workers cannot be seen by the public.

Once the gates have opened, there should be no drinking in the front area of the stands, especially the cashiers. All drinks must be kept in the back out of sight of customers. For those stands that do not have a back area, you may bring in a sports bottle for drinks and keep them away from any food (especially those stands that have grills and fryers and get very hot).

GENERAL

  • All stands must be ready for operation and volunteers in place 15 minutes prior to gates opening.
  • Volunteers must sign in (sheets will be located on the concession clip-board)
  • All volunteers must be at 14 years of age or older. Volunteers working around fryers, grills or any other machines, must be 16 to cook. Any cashiers working where the beer is sold must be 18 or older. No one under 18 can handle any beer.

BEHAVIOR

  • NO CELL PHONES while working.
  • No gum chewing.
  • Breaks must be requested and approved by the nights stand manager.

WEATHER

  • Disregard the rain – come anyway, games are seldom postponed early.
  • If there is any change, you will be emailed by 3 p.m. on Game Day at the address you provided to Linda Norris, Stand Coordinator. If in doubt, call or email Linda Norris after 3 p.m. of game day to check status.
